Nova Scotia Keynote

August 6-8, 2014

Nova Scotia Ministry of Education

In the summer of 2014 I was lucky enough to be invited by the Ministry of Education in Nova Scotia to Keynote and present at their annual summer conference.

Nova Scotia was at a point where they were just launching Google Apps for Education to a number of their districts. Jim Jamieson (another Google Certified Teacher from Ontario) and I were brought in share our Google experiences over the course of this three-day conference.

In this keynote I focussed on how the tools within GAFE could support students to become digitally literate. That the suite of tools within GAFE are so accessible and easy to use, that we can focus our time more on the learning than on the tools, ultimately giving students opportunities to problem-solve, take risks, collaborate, and select tools to demonstrate learning.
